NAZ and University of Edenberg Reaffirm Partnership to Enhance Workplace Technology

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Rt. Hon. Ms. Nelly B. K. Mutti, SC., MP, FAPRA, and the Chancellor of the University of Edenberg, Dr. Gunasekar Ariyamuthu, have reaffirmed their commitment to promoting technology-driven workplaces.

This partnership was marked by the University of Edenberg's donation of a state-of-the-art smart interactive board to the National Assembly of Zambia (NAZ), a significant step toward enhancing operational efficiency within the Legislature. The handover ceremony took place on Monday, 25th November, 2024, at Parliament Buildings.

National Assembly Researchers undergo IPU Training on the impact of Climate Change on Children

The National Assembly of Zambia with the support of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) undertook a two-day capacity building and information sharing training workshop at Lake Safari Lodge in Siavonga. The objective of the training was among other things to build the capacity of Parliamentary Researchers so that they can appreciate the extent of child, early and forced marriages, health and nutrition and educational outcomes for children in the wake of the severe drought instigated by climate change in the country.

The ZYPC Strategic Plan was launched by Honourable Twaambo Mutinta, Member of Parliament for Itezhi-tezhi Constituency and Vice-Chairperson of the ZYPC during a training workshop for Members of the Caucus on Communication, Leadership and Mentorship, which was organised with support from the Inter-Parliamentary Union IPU).

Windhoek, Namibia, July 30th 2024 - Namibia's Parliament has commended Zambia for the manner it is implementing the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) programme. Chairperson of the National Council, which the second House of Namibia's bicameral Parliament, Honourable, Lukas Sinimbo Muha said Namibia is exploring the possibility of entering into a cooperation agreement with the Parliament of Zambia to learn more about how the country is implementing the Constituency Development Fund.

Honourable Moyo Leads Electoral Observation Mission in Rwanda

Honourable Moses F Moyo, MP, the Second Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia recently led an Electoral Observation Mission of the Forum of Parliaments of the Member-States of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGLR) to observe the general elections which were held on 15th July, 2024, following an invitation by the Government of Rwanda through the National Electoral Commission (NEC).

On the 3rd of July, 2024, a Delegation of six Members of Parliament from the Parliament of Uganda led by the Leader of the Opposition Hon Joel Ssenyonyi, MP, visited the National Assembly of Zambia on a benchmarking visit.

JCTR Meets with First Deputy Speaker to Discuss Climate Action and Collaboration

The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) said its courtesy visit to the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Malungo A Chisangano, MP, marks a significant step towards collaboration on climate change and environmental management initiatives. The meeting held at the Parliament Buildings on 17th June, 2024, aimed to identify areas for joint efforts in addressing climate change issues.
