The First Deputy Minority Whip Honourable Ibrahim Ahmed, MP and the Second Deputy Minority Whip, Honourable Comfort Cudjoe Ghansah Doyoe, MP from the Parliament of Ghana are undertaking a benchmarking study visit of the Zambian Parliament to, among other things, learn best practices in the Whipping system of the Zambian Parliament and the role of the Party Whips in maintaining discipline among Members of Parliament.

The First Deputy Speaker Hon. Malungo A. Chisangano, MP says Zambia will continue to promote and uphold women’s rights in leadership as they are key stakeholders in nation building in any democratic dispensation.

Speaking in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she is leading a delegation from Zambia at the Africa Liberal Network Women’s Leadership Programme, Hon. Chisangano, MP said women are the key decision makers in any nation and that the training will help every Member of Parliament to exchange and sharpen ideas on what must be done in making women count in decision making.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nelly B K Mutti, MP said Parliaments are key in increasing youth representation and participation in political processes.

She said this during the launch of the Zambia Youth Parliamentary Caucus (ZYPC) under the theme, “Bridging the Gap between Parliament and the Youth”, on Wednesday 28thSeptember, 2022at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka.

The Rt. Honourable Nelly B K Mutti, MP, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia visited the residence of the British High Commissioner to sign in the late Queen’s book of condolences on Thursday, 15th September, 2022.

In paying respect on the demise of Her Majesty the Queen, the Rt. Hon Speaker described the late Queen Elizabeth II as an inspirational woman who devoted her life to service, serving the people of Great Britain and the Commonwealth Member States.

Two Austrian Parliamentarians, Prof. Dr. Axel Kassegger, MP and Mr. Walter Asperl, MP today, 8th September, 2022 paid a courtesy call on the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Hon. Malungo Chisangano, MP, at Parliament Buildings.

Their discussions bordered on previous partnerships between the Zambian and Austrian Parliaments and support rendered by the Austrian Parliament to the Zambian Parliament and the results that have been yielded this far.
