Speaker Mutti attends the Commonwealth Service, confers with Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC

Speaker of the National Assembly, the Rt. Hon Nelly B K Mutti, MP attended the Commonwealth Service that was held at the Westminster Abbey in London on Monday, 14th March, 2022. After the service, Speaker Mutti conferred with the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, the Rt. Hon Patricia Scotland QC.

National Assembly Honours Kabwata Lawmaker Mr. Levy Mkandawire, MP

Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Hon. Nelly B K Mutti today, Monday 22nd November, 2021 led a sombre National Assembly in honouring the late Kabwata Constituency Member of Parliament, Mr. Levy Mkandawire who died on Thursday, 18th November, 2021, in a road traffic accident that occurred outside his house in Chalata Road, Woodlands Extension.

SPEAKER MUTTI RECOGNISES THE NEED TO SUPPORT WOMEN’S RIGHTS

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Rt Hon Ms Nelly B. K Mutti, MP has recognised the need to support women’s rights aimed at enhancing the capacity of Members of Parliament and staff in gender related matters in order for them to perform their legislative functions effectively.

She said this when the National Legal Aid Clinic for Women (NLACW) Board members paid a courtesy call on her on Monday, 15th November, 2021 at Parliament Buildings. She added that, as a member of the NLACW herself, she was gratified that the NLACW paid a courtesy call on her.

FIRST DEPUTY SPEAKER OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF ZAMBIA, HONOURABLE MALUNGO A CHISANGANO, MP LED THE CPA ZAMBIA BRANCH DELEGATION TO THE 51ST REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE CPA AFRICA REGION.

First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Honourable Malungo A Chisangano, MP led the CPA Zambia Branch delegation to the 51st Regional Conference of the CPA Africa Region which was held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel from 8th to 14th November, 2021 in Abuja, Nigeria.

 

First and Second Deputy Speakers undertake a familiarization tour of the National Assembly Members’ Motel

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Ms Attractor Chisangano, MP and her counterpart, the Second Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Mr Moses Moyo, MP, undertook a familiarization tour of the National Assembly Members’ Motel on Wednesday 3rd November 2021. The tour, which was conducted by the acting Manager of the Motel, Teddy Mr Chilundu, was aimed at acquainting the leadership of the National Assembly on the state of facilities for Honourable Members.
