Access Bank MD Discusses Transformative Merger with Clerk of the National Assembly

Access Bank Managing Director, Mr. Lishala Situmbeko accompanied by key executives paid a courtesy visit to the Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia on Thursday, 2nd May, 2024 at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka. The purpose of the visit was to formally inform the esteemed official about the recent merger between Access Bank and Atlas Mara Bank, a significant development poised to reshape the country's banking sector.

SPEAKER MUTTI EXTENDS WARM FAREWELL TO OUTGOING ALGERIAN AMBASSADOR

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Right Honourable Ms. Nelly B K Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, expressed heartfelt gratitude and bid farewell to the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Saadi, as his diplomatic tenure in Zambia came to an end. SPEAKER MUTTI IS NEW PF-ICGLR PRESIDENT

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Right Honourable Ms Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA has assumed the Presidency of the Forum of Parliaments of Member States of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (PF-ICGLR), taking over from Right Honourable Jemma Nunu Kumba, MP, Speaker of the Transitional Legislative Assembly of the Republic of South Sudan.  

CZECH SENATE AND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY STRENGTHEN TIES AMID DROUGHT SUPPORT

The Senate of the Czech Republic, His Excellency Milos Vystrcil said his government has extended a donation of 200 thousand United States dollars to Zambia for drought Mitigation, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the country’s development agenda.

The Senate President said this during a courtesy visit on the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Right Honourable Nelly B K Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA on Tuesday, 10th April, 2024 at Parliament Buildings.

Committee Department staff sensitised on the National Assembly of Zambia Strategic Plan

The Committee Department held a workshop for all staff in the Department  themed 'Unbundling and Infromation Sharing on the National Assembly Zambia Strategic Plan 2022 to 2026 ; and Concept Note Writing'.  The Workshop was from Saturday 23rd to Sunday 24th March 2024 at  Sandy's Creaton Resort in Chilanga.  The main aim of the workshop was to equip staff in the Department with the a deeper understanding of the contents of the  Strategic Plan and help them appreciate their respective roles in ensuring the successful implementation the Plan.

SPEAKER MUTTI CALLS FOR HEIGHTENED PARLIAMENTARY DIPLOMACY AS A TOOL TO RESOLVE CONFLICT

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF ZAMBIA TO OPEN A CRÈCHE FOR NURSING PARLIAMENTARIANS AND STAFF

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia the Right Hon Ms Nelly B K Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, has disclosed that the National Assembly of Zambia will soon open a crèche for Parliamentarians and staff with young children and infants in order to foster a family-friendly work atmosphere.

President Hakainde Hichilema says government efforts are yielding dividends

President Hakainde Hichilema has addressed the third session of the thirteenth National Assembly on the progress made in the application of National values and principles as provided by the Republican constitution.

President Hichilema said that governments efforts to promote morality and human dignity, upholding good governance as well sustainable social economic development anchored on hard work is yielding dividends.

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA CONFERS SPEAKER MUTTI WITH THE STATUS OF STATE COUNSEL

Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti has been conferred with the status of State Counsel by the  President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr Hakainde Hichilema. 

She was conferred with the status of State Counsel with four others namely; Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Jack Mwiimbu (MP), Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chairperson, Ms. Mwangala Zalomous, prominent Lusaka lawyer Abdullah Dudhia and Ms. Emily Mwanza Chibiya respectively.
