PROMOTING HEALTHY PEOPLE AND A STRONGER ZAMBIA AS NATIONAL ASSEMBLY LAUNCHES FIRST-EVER AEROBICS MANIA

The National Assembly Football Club made history as it hosted its first Fundraising Aerobics Mania held at Parliament Grounds in Lusaka on Saturday, 26th July, 2025. This event was dedicated to promoting fitness, wellness and healthy living among Members of Parliament, Staff and stakeholders.  The event under the theme, “Healthy People, Stronger Zambia” attracted a remarkable turnout from various organisations, underscoring the growing emphasis on physical and mental well-being.

SOCATT AFRICA UNDERTAKES A SUB-REGION VISIT TO ZAMBIA BRANCH

The Vice Chairperson of the Society of Clerks-At-The-Table (SoCATT) Africa and Clerk of the National Assembly of Malawi, Mrs. Fiona Kalemba led a delegation to conduct a Sub-Region Visit to SoCATT Zambia Branch from 20th to 22nd July, 2025. The visit was part of a combined Central Sub-Region Visit to Mozambique, Botswana and Zambia SoCATT Branches undertaken from 16th to 22nd July, 2025.

FIRST DEPUTY SPEAKER OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF ZAMBIA WRAPS UP HER TOUR OF CENTRAL PROVINCE

Honorable Malungo Chisangano, MP and First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, concluded her tour of Central Province constituencies with a nationwide appeal for tree planting. The tour which ran from 18th to 21st July 2025 was intended to engage with Constituency Office staff and promote the tree planting initiative. Bwacha Parliamentary Constituency Office was the first stop on the itinerary.

NELLY MUTTI FOUNDATION DONATES FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT TO NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WOMEN’S TEAM

In a show of support for women’s football and youth empowerment, the Nelly Mutti Foundation has donated a full set of football equipment to the National Assembly Women’s Football Team. The donation included home and away jerseys, socks, and soccer balls — a boost aimed at equipping the team for both success and professionalism on the pitch.

The handover ceremony was graced by the Speaker of the National Assembly and founder of the Nelly Mutti Foundation, Rt. Hon. Nelly Mutti, MP, who personally handed over the kit to the team.

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SIGNS MoU WITH WORLD VISION ZAMBIA, AIMED AT ENHANCING SERVICE DELIVERY

The National Assembly has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with World Vision Zambia, aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhancing service delivery, particularly in areas affecting vulnerable communities. The MoU was signed today, Monday, 21st July, 2025, at Parliament Buildings.

The National Assembly of Zambia held a combined ceremony at Parliament Buildings to honor outstanding members of staff for their dedication, hard work and professionalism, as part of the 2025 Labour Day and the inaugural Parliament Day commemorations. The event, which took place on Monday, 21st July 2025, was celebrated under the national theme, “Shaping Zambia’s Future of Work Through HomeGrown Solutions for Inclusive Economic Growth,” highlighting the institution’s commitment to recognising excellence and promoting inclusive workplace development.
