The Second Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Moses Frank Moyo, MP, says that Parliament plays a key role in advancing inclusive and accountability health systems through its oversight and budget approval functions.

Kabwe Member of Parliament, Mrs. Chrizoster Halwiindi Phiri, says Zambia remains committed to promoting women’s participation in public life and governance through strong legislative action and inclusive policymaking.

She said this at the ceremonial opening of the Seminar for Women Parliamentarians themed “Strengthening Cooperation Between Legislative Bodies and the Promotion of the Global Women’s Cause,” held in Beijing, China, on Sunday, 19^th October 2025, where she led the Zambian Parliamentary Delegation.

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Chairperson, Dr. Christipher Kalila, MP says the theme for this year’s Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) which is “The Commonwealth: A Global Partner”, could not be more timely.  He said in a world where challenges transcend borders, from climate change to economic uncertainty, from inequality to democratic instability, partnership is no longer optional, it is essential.

Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Mrs. Loveness Mayaka, says the National Assembly of Zambia is delighted that BBC Media Action has extended its partnership under the Citizens’ Voice Project to January 2026, a move that reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to strengthening parliamentary engagement and citizen participation in governance.
