The National Assembly of Zambia delegation led by the Acting Deputy Clerk (Administration), Mr. Sage Samuwika is participation in the 9th Society of Clerks-At-The-Table (SoCATT) Professional Development Seminar being hosted by the National Assembly of Botswana in Gaborone, from 9th to 13th March, 2026.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Nelly B.K. Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, today, 8^th March 2026, joined the nation in commemorating International Women's Day held under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action for ALL Women and Girls.”

Dr. Mutti led staff from the National Assembly of Zambia in taking part in the national commemorations alongside other stakeholders.

The National Assembly of Zambia and IDinsight, a data analytics organisation, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of strengthening data and information systems that support legislative processes.

Speaking during the ceremony, National Assembly, Deputy Clerk of Procedure, Stephen Kawiimbe, that signing is more than merely exchanging signatures on a document; it is a commitment to strengthen the very foundations of our parliamentary processes through evidence, data, and technology.

Prof. Nicklaus Labhardt of the University of Basel has called for the institutionalisation and financing of Community Health Workers responding to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) to improve access to chronic care and accelerate the attainment of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in rural Africa.

Prof. Labhardt said the growing burden of non-communicable diseases requires innovative and affordable service delivery models.
