MOBILISE POLITICAL WILL TO REIVEGORATE SDGS-SPEAKER MUTTI URGES PARLIAMENTARIANS

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia Hon Nelly Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA has urged fellow Parliamentarians to lead the way to ensure that Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are realised before the deadline of 2030.
She noted that, progress towards the realisation of the SDGs remains uneven and many goals are still off track globally. She attributed the gloomy global picture to the challenges at national levels and called on countries to endeavour to implement the SDGs.

This took place during the resumption of the Fourth Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly, on Tuesday, 12th February, 2025, at Parliament Buildings.

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on freedom of expression and opinion, Ms. Irene Khan has called on the National Assembly of Zambia to support and promote the strengthening of freedom of opinion and expression in Zambia. 

Ms. Khan said on Wednesday 29th January,  2025 at Parliament Building when she paid a courtesy call on the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Hon. Malungo Chisangano as part of her continued interaction with various stakeholders on her visit to Zambia at the invitation of the government.

NAZ AND TEXILA AMERICAN UNIVERSITY CONFER ON HEALTH PARTNERSHIPS

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Honourable Malungo Chisangano has welcomed Texila American University’s call to work with the Committee for Health and Community development.

Speaking when she met founder and president of the University Mr Saju Bhaskar and Vice President Prof Ajah Kumar Poddar on Wednesday 22nd January 2025, during a courtesy call in the Amusaa Mwanamwambwa Committee Room, The Speaker appreciated the role that the university plays in advancing the medical field.

PEACE KEY FOR REGIONAL INTEGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT IN GREAT LAKES SAYS SPEAKER MUTTI

The Right Honourable Madam Speaker, Ms. Nelly Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, arrived in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on 18th January, 2025 as Leader of Delegation and Sitting President of the Parliamentary Forum of International Conference on the Great Lakes Region. (FP-ICGLR). The main objective of the visit is for Madam Speaker, as sitting President of the FP-ICGLR, is to acquaint herself with the operations of the Forum whose Secretariat is based in Kinshasa.
