Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Rt Honourable Nelly B.K. Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, on Wednesday, 26^th February, 2025, met with Provincial Ministers at Parliament Buildings to discuss ways to enhance their engagement in legislative debates.

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia Hon Nelly Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA has urged fellow Parliamentarians to lead the way to ensure that Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are realised before the deadline of 2030.
She noted that, progress towards the realisation of the SDGs remains uneven and many goals are still off track globally. She attributed the gloomy global picture to the challenges at national levels and called on countries to endeavour to implement the SDGs.

Following the by-elections recently held in Kawambwa Constituency, Pambashe Constituency, and Petauke Constituency. The First Deputy Speaker, Hon. Malungo A. Chisangano, MP, welcomed to the floor of the House three newly elected Members of Parliament. This took place during the resumption of the Fourth Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly, on Tuesday, 12^th February, 2025, at Parliament Buildings.

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on freedom of expression and opinion, Ms. Irene Khan has called on the National Assembly of Zambia to support and promote the strengthening of freedom of opinion and expression in Zambia. 

Ms. Khan said on Wednesday 29th January,  2025 at Parliament Building when she paid a courtesy call on the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Hon. Malungo Chisangano as part of her continued interaction with various stakeholders on her visit to Zambia at the invitation of the government.
