National Assembly showcases it's work at the 92nd Agricultural and Commercial Show

The National Assembly of Zambia is participating in the 92nd Agricultural and Commercial Show under the theme: “Sustainble Economic Empowerment” . The Show will be held from 1st to 6th August, 2018, at the Lusaka Show Grounds.

The Agricultural and Commercial Show is organised by the Agricultural and Commercial Society of Zambia (ACSZ) annually for a period of five days in the capital city of Lusaka. The show brings together a variety of products and services from a cross section of exhibitors from within and outside the country.

The National Assembly of Zambia is encouraging showgoers to visit our stand which is located in the Jubiliee Hall and listen to Parliament Radio onour countrywide frequencies.

 

CHINESE AMBASSSADOR TO ZAMBIA REAFFIRMS CHINA’S BILATERAL COOPERATION TO THE ZAMBIAN PARLIAMENT

The Rt Hon Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC, MP, FCIArb, Speaker of the National Assembly has reiterate that Zambia and China have continued to enjoy warm bilateral relations from the pre-colonial era. He said this when His Excellency Ambassador Li Jie, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia paid a courtsey call on him on Wednesday, 25th July, 2018 at Parliament Buildings, Lusaka.

Speaker Matibini Tours Southern Province Constituency Offices

 

The Rt. Hon. Juctice Dr. Patrick Matibini, SC, FCIArb, MP has continued his countrywide tour of constituency offices, with his most recent tour having been the tour of Southern Province constituency offices from 20th to 22nd July, 2018. The Speaker has embarked on the countrywide tour of constituency offices in order to be extensively acquainted with the operations of the offices, as well as to devise ways of making them more effective in serving the purpose for which they were established. 

STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT AND NETWORKING KEY IN ADDRESSING SRHR CHALLENGES, KALILA

The Chairperson of the National Working group of the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), HIV and AIDS Governance Project Dr Chritopher K Kalila, MP says there is need for strategic engagement and networking in SRHR and HIV and AIDS programming in order to adequately address prevailing SRHR challenges.

Hon Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC, FCIArb, MP says Zambia and South Africa enjoy warm and cordial relations from way back and therefore it is imperative that their Parliaments learn from each other by sharing best practices.  Dr Matibini said this when a delegation from Kwazulu Natal Legislature of South Africa paid a courtesy call on him at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka, on Tuesday, 10th July, 2018.

SADC- PF LOBBIES FOR ITS TRANSFORMATION INTO SADC PARLIAMENT

A Mission of the Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC - PF) on Friday 6th July, 2018 paid President Edgar Chagwa Lungu a visit at State House in order to lobby for Zambia’s support towards the transformation of the SADC- PF from a parliamentary forum to a parliament.

HUMAN RESOURCE INDISPENSIBLE TO DEVELOPMENT, NAZ CLERK

Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia Mrs Cecilia Nsenduluka Mbewe has said it is indisputable that national development is only achievable through the labour force, which is a factor of production in every industry.
Speaking during the National Assembly of Zambia 2018 Labour Day Awards presentation ceremony on Friday, 29th June, 2018 at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka, Mrs Mbewe stated that human resource is the most indispensible of all factors of production.  She congratulated all members of staff for their devotion to duty and urged them to even do more.  

CONSTITUENCY OFFICES KEY IN THE WORK OF MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT, SYAKALIMA

Chirundu Member of Parliament, Mr Douglas Syakalima says the National Assembly Constituency Offices have made the work of Members of Parliament easier as MPs are not expected to be in the office physically to attend to constituency issues. Mr Syakalima said this during the Roadshow that was organised by the National Assembly of Zambia, with the support of Irish Aid, in his constituency on Saturday, 23rd June, 2018.
