National Assembly Football Club prepares for 2018 Super League Season

The National Assembly management has congratulated National Assembly Football Club for earning its deserved promotion to Zambia's elite football league for the 2018 football season. This was in a statement made by Mr Roy Ngulube, Deputy Clerk (Administration) who is also the club trustee, when he officiated at a strategic planning retreat for the Club at Chita Lodge in Kafue on Saturday, 4th November, 2017.

The Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Hon Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC, MP on Wednesday, 1st November, 2017 launched the Public Finance Management (PFM) Handbook at Parliament Buildings.  The PFM Handbook is available on the National Assembly website.
 

PACKAGE SUSTAINABLE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION PROJECTS-MWIMBA MALAMA ADVISES REA

Second Deputy of the National Assembly of Zambia,  Hon Mwimba Malama, MP has advised the Rural Electrification Authority (REA) to come up with resolutions that will provide significant input in packaging sustainable rural electrification projects under the Rural Electrification program.

Mrs Cecilia Mbewe was sworn in as Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia by His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu at State House on Wednesday 25th October, 2017. In accordance with the provisions of Section 3 of the National Assembly Staff Act, CAP 257 of the Laws of Zambia, the Members of Parliament at their Sitting of 5th October, 2017, ratified the Presidential appointment of Mrs Cecilia Nsenduluka Mbewe as Clerk of the National Assembly.

Cultural pluralism key in nation-building, Speaker Matibini

Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC, MP says the promotion of cultural pluralism is important to the achievement of nation-building of every country.  Dr. Matibini says cultural pluralism is an effort that should seek to develop and maintain each linguistic and cultural heritage within the nation state as an integral part of nationalism and nation building.

SPEAKER SIGNS UP THE HEFORSHE CAMPAIGN

Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Honourable Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC, MP on Tuesday, 3rd October, 2017 signed up the Heforshe Campaign at Parliament Buildings. The Heforshe campaign is a global solidarity movement which was started by the United Nations Women (UN Women) and launched by the United Nations Secretary General in September 2014 in order to get different stakeholders, particularly men, involved in the fight for gender equality.

Republican President Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu has officially opened the Second Session of the Twelfth National Assembly today, Friday 15th September, 2017. Some of the bills expected to be tabled during this session include; Companies Bill, Insolvency Bill, bills to amend the Public Finance Act No. 15 of 2004 and the Local government Act Cap 281 of the Laws of Zambia and the National Planning and Budgeting Bill.

National Assembly of Zambia to Debate Pan African Parliament Affairs

First Deputy Speaker, Hon. Catherine Namugala says it is important for the National Assembly of Zambia (NAZ) to begin debating issues that emanate from the Pan African Parliament (PAP) to which NAZ is a member parliament.
