Saturday 5th April 2025 – The Right Honourable Ms. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, SC., MP, FAPRA, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, has been unanimously elected as the Vice President of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) representing the Africa Geopolitical Group, at the 295th Session of the Executive Committee at the ongoing 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly and Related Meetings in Taskent, Uzbekistan.

National Assembly Continues to Uphold Freedom of Religion

Second Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Honourable Moses F. Moyo, MP, said that the National Assembly remains committed to upholding and protecting internationally recognized human rights, including the right to freedom of religion or belief.

He made this statement during a courtesy call on him by the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief, Professor Nazila Ghanea, on Monday, 31st March 2025, at Parliament Buildings.

Parliamentary Alliance on Food Security and Nutrition calls for adoption of Agroecology Techniques

The Parliamentary Alliance on Food Security and Nutrition (PAFSN) has called for adoption of agroecological techniques as a cost-effective alternative in ensuring good yields. This came to light during an organized visit to the Big Concession farming block in Mumbwa.
