Parliamentary Alliance on Food Security and Nutrition calls for adoption of Agroecology Techniques

The Parliamentary Alliance on Food Security and Nutrition (PAFSN) has called for adoption of agroecological techniques as a cost-effective alternative in ensuring good yields. This came to light during an organized visit to the Big Concession farming block in Mumbwa.
The visit that took place on 29th March, 2025, organized by FIAN International Zambia in conjunction with Zambia Alliance for Agroecology and Biodiversity (ZAAB), consisting of selected Members of PAFSN. The MPs toured Mr. Gilbert Naife, who demonstrated the viability and cost-effectiveness of agroecological practices.

He emphasized that adopting agroecological techniques can be a cost-effective alternative in ensuring good yields.
Meanwhile, Hon. Michelo Kasauta, MP and Chairperson of PAFSN, underscored the importance of the program. He expressed gratitude to FIAN International Zambia for having organized the visit and hence, encouraged broader dissemination of information, including engagement with traditional leaders.
