The National Assembly wishes to inform the general public of the appointment of Mrs Loveness Maambo Mayaka as Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia following a swearing-in ceremony by the Republican President on Wednesday, 27th May, 2026.

President Hichilema swears in Loveness Mayaka as Clerk of the National Assembly

President Hakainde Hichilema has sworn in Mrs Loveness Mayaka as Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia.

Her swearing-in follows her appointment and subsequent ratification by the National Assembly pursuant to section 3 (1) of the National Assembly Staff Act, Chapter 257 of the Laws of Zambia.

Speaking during the ceremony held today at State House, President Hichilema said the appointment of Mrs Mayaka is critical to the smooth operation of the Legislature.

This Act may be cited as the Electoral Process (Amendment)
Act, 2026, and shall be read as one with the Electoral Process Act,
in this Act referred to as the principal Act.
