NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PRESS RELEASE
The National Assembly wishes to inform the general public of the appointment of Mrs Loveness Maambo Mayaka as Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia following a swearing-in ceremony by the Republican President on Wednesday, 27th May, 2026.
The appointment follows the ratification of Mrs Mayaka by the National Assembly of Zambia on Sunday, 10th May, 2026, pursuant to Section 3(1) of the National Assembly Staff Act, Chapter 257 of the Laws of Zambia.
Mrs Mayaka has over thirty (30) years work experience in public service of which twenty (20) years is at the National Assembly of Zambia, having joined the institution in 2005. She served as Principal Clerk for Research from 2015 to 2022, where she contributed to parliamentary research, policy analysis and institutional development. She later served as Deputy Clerk (Administration) from 2022 to 2025, overseeing administrative operations. Prior to her ratification, Mrs Mayaka served as Acting Clerk of the National Assembly from April, 2025.
The National Assembly congratulates Mrs Mayaka on her well-deserved appointment and wish her success as she takes on this new responsibility.
