MPASA BRIDGE SUCCESSFULLY REHABILITATED

Mpasa Bridge in Mpika District has been successfully rehabilitated, bringing much-needed relief to residents and motorists who depend on it for transportation and economic activities.

Speaking at the official commissioning, Mambilima Member of Parliament, Hon. Jean Chisenga said the rehabilitation of the bridge will greatly improve the movement of residents especially the school going children who had to cross the river every day.

MWENSE TOWN COUNCIL PROCURES EARTH MOVING EQUIPMENTS

Mwense Town Council has successfully procured a set of earth-moving equipment using funds from the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The newly acquired equipment includes, a TLB Backhoe Loader, Bulldozer, Roller Compactor, Low Bed Truck and Trailer and a Motor Grader.

This initiative demonstrates the effectiveness of CDF in empowering local authorities with the necessary tools to improve service delivery, particularly in road rehabilitation and infrastructure development.

NAZ Communication Practitioners Participate in the 2025 ZIPRC AGM

The National Assembly of Zambia’s Communication team participated in the 2025 Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference, held under the theme “Strategic Communication and Artificial Intelligence: Innovate and Thrive,” from 18th to 21st March 2025, at Avani Resort in Livingstone.

Members of Parliament Urged to prioritise National Interest

The Institute of Parliamentary Studies and Training with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Democracy Strengthening in Zambia (DSZ) Project held a two day workshop for members of parliament aimed at  enhancing parliamentary oversight and cross-party cooperation.

EUROPEAN UNION PLEDGES CONTINUED SUPPORT TO ZAMBIA

European Union Ambassador to Zambia, Karolina Stasiak has disclosed that the European Union has secured 153 million EUR development support for Zambia for the period 2025 to 2027.

Ambassador Karolina Stasiak, who made the announcement when she paid a courtesy call on the Right Honorable Ms. Nelly B. K. Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, Speaker of the National Assembly, on 20th march, 2025 at Parliament also assured the Speaker of the European Union’s continued support to the legislative wing of the government.

NAZ Signs MOU with AGNES to Strengthen Climate Change Oversight

The National Assembly of Zambia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African Group of Negotiators Experts Support (AGNES) to strengthen parliamentary oversight on climate change.

The agreement is aimed at empowering Parliamentarians to track, assess and verify climate-related projects on the ground using the Climate Monitoring and Accountability Tool (CMAT), a digital platform designed to monitor climate change and related actions, ensuring transparency and accountability in resource utilization.
