Members of Parliament Urged to prioritise National Interest

The Institute of Parliamentary Studies and Training with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Democracy Strengthening in Zambia (DSZ) Project held a two day workshop for members of parliament aimed at  enhancing parliamentary oversight and cross-party cooperation.

Second Deputy Speaker Moses Moyo was represented by the Clerk of the National Assembly Roy Ngulube said that there was need to address divisions that hinder parliamentarians' ability to act in the nation's best interests, such as political party affiliation influence among others.

And Director for the Institute for Parliamentary Studies and Training IPST, Tennieson Nyangu highlighted the primary objectives of the workshop, underscoring the importance of collaboration and cooperation among Members of Parliament to foster effective oversight, promote transparency, accountability, and trust among citizens.
