ELECTORAL COMMISSION OF ZAMBIA ANNOUNCES 70 NEW PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCIES

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), Mrs. Mwangala Zaloumis, SC, has officially announced the creation of seventy (70) new constituencies across the Republic of Zambia.

Speaking during the official announcement on Thursday, 16th April, 2026, at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka, Ms Zaloumis described the development as a significant milestone in the country’s democratic development and electoral reform process.

National Assembly Committed to Promoting Progressive Legislation- First Deputy Speaker Chisangano

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Honourable Malungo Chisangano, said the National Assembly remains committed to strengthening cooperation with European partners in advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

She said the National Assembly continues to play a central role in promoting progressive legislation and policies aimed at improving the welfare of citizens, particularly young people and vulnerable groups.
