The objects of this Bill are to provide for— (a) the retirement benefits of a former Chief Justice; and (b) matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The National Pensions Scheme,2026

The objects of this Bill are to—

(a)

continue the existence of the National Pensions Scheme

Authority and re-define its functions;

(b)

re-constitute the Board of the National Pensions Scheme

Authority and re define its functions;

(c)

continue the existence of the membership, contributions

and benefits structure under the National Pension

Scheme and provide for its administration and

management;

(d)

provide for the establishment of sub-schemes;

(e)

The Public Gathering Bill,2026

The objects of this Bill are to —
(a) promote the protection of the freedom of assembly and
association at a public gathering;
(b) regulate the conduct of a public gathering for the
preservation of public order and public safety;
(c) repeal and replace the Public Order Act, 1955; and
(d) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the
foregoing.

Speaker Mutti commends UN efforts to combat genocide linked to hate speech and misinformation

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Rt Hon Dr Nelly B.K. Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, has commended the United Nations for its continued efforts to address the growing global threat of genocide, particularly as it relates to the spread of hate speech and misinformation.

Speaker Mutti made these remarks during a courtesy call at her office by the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, Professor Chaloka Beyani, on Wednesday, 29th April 2026, at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka.

The Land (Perpetual Succession) Bill, 2026

The objects of this Bill are to —
(a) provide for the incorporation of a trust for the purposes of
perpetual succession to land;
(b) provide for the appointment and duties of trustees of a
registered trust;
(c) give effect to the financial action task force
recommendations relating to beneficial ownership of a
registered trust;
(d) repeal and replace the Land (Perpetual Succession) Act;
and
(e) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the
foregoing.

The Patents and Companies Registration Agency (Amendment) Bill, 2026

The object of this Bill is to amend the Patents and Companies
Registration Agency Act, 2020, so as to—
(a) revise the composition of the Board of the Patents and
Companies Registration Agency; and
(b) Provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the
foregoing.
