MADAM 1ST DEPUTY SPEAKER AND MPS PARTICIPATE IN DEVELOPING AN SRHR ADVOCACY STRATEGY

Hon Malungo Attractor Chisangano, MP, 1st Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia and selected Members of Parliament from various Parliamentary Committees of the National Assembly of Zambia under the auspices of the Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC PF) participated in a Seminar to develop an advocacy strategy for Members of Parliament on Comprehensive Sexuality Education, HIV/AIDS and Sexual Reproductive Health Rights in Zambia from Friday 18th February, to Sunday 20th February, 2022.

UGANDAN PARLIAMENTARIANS INTERACT WITH SPEAKER MUTTI

A delegation of Ugandan Parliamentarians led by the Leader of Opposition, Honourable Mathias Mpuuga today, Tuesday, 15th February, 2022 met the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nelly B. K Muttiat Parliament Buildings to discuss various issues pertaining to Parliamentary work. Hon. Mpuuga especially highlighted that his delegation was eager to draw lessons regarding tolerance in Zambia’s political arena and the peaceful exchange of power that characterises Zambia’s elections. 

SPEAKER MUTTI CHALLENGES NAZ FOOTBALL CLUB TO WORK HARDER

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Rt. Honourable Nelly B K Mutti, MP has challenged the National Assembly Football Club to work extra hard in order to get back to the top flight of Zambian football. She added that owing to the fact that the club interacts with various communities across the country through league fixture fulfilment, it stood well positioned to be ambassadors of the institutional motto of “Taking Parliament Closer to the People”. 

FIRST AND SECOND DEPUTY SPEAKERS CONFER WITH THE UGANDAN PARLIAMENT

The First Deputy Speaker, Honourable Attractor Malungo Chisangano, MP and the Second Deputy Speaker, Honourable Moses Frank Moyo, MP undertook an orientation visit to the Parliament of Uganda from 31st January to 4th February, 2022.

The visit facilitated the exchange of views and counsel on the management of parliamentary affairs.  Further, the visit also served as a platform for cementing relationship between the Zambian and Uganda Parliaments.  

 

EU ELECTION OBSERVATION MISSION PRESENTS THE ZAMBIA 2021 ELECTION REPORT TO SPEAKER MUTTI

The European Union Election Observer Mission to the Zambian 2021 General Election Chief Observer Ms Maria Arena, MP presented the Final Report of its Observer Mission to the Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Rt. Hon. Nelly B K Mutti, MP at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka on Wednesday, 9th February, 2022. 
 

ENHANCE CONSTITUENCY OFFICE VISIBILITY - SPEAKER MUTTI

Speaker of the National Assembly has called for the enhanced visibility of the constituency offices through the implementation of programmes and projects.

 

ZIMBABWEAN PARLEY COMMENDS ZAMBIA FOR A ROBUST HIGHER AND TERTIARY EDUCATION SYSTEM

The Chairperson of the Zimbabwean Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Education, Science and Technology Development Honourable Lindiwe Maphosa MP has commended Zambia for its robust higher and tertiary education sector, from which Zimbabwe can gain invaluable insights towards improving its system. 
 
She said this when she paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Honourable Ms Nelly B K Mutti, MP on Tuesday 7th December, 2021 at Parliament Buildings. 

WORLD REGIONS BACKSLIDING ON DEMOCRACY

Speaker of the National Assembly, The Rt. Hon Ms Nelly B K Mutti, MP has said that there has been erosion on democracy in the last decade in most regions of the world and has therefore cautioned all actors and stakeholders to urgently address the growing phenomenon.
 

National Assembly Honours Kabwata Lawmaker Mr. Levy Mkandawire, MP

Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Hon. Nelly B K Mutti today, Monday 22nd November, 2021 led a sombre National Assembly in honouring the late Kabwata Constituency Member of Parliament, Mr. Levy Mkandawire who died on Thursday, 18th November, 2021, in a road traffic accident that occurred outside his house in Chalata Road, Woodlands Extension.
