Speaker Matibini thanks Knesst (Parliament of Israel) for ties with NAZ

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Rt. Hon. Mr Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC., FCIArb, BA, MP has thanked the Knesset (Parliament of Israel) for considering Zambia to be the 39th country in the world to join The International Network of Parliamentary Caucuses.  He said this during the launch of the Zambia Israel Allies Parliamentary Caucus at Parliament Buildings on Thursday, 14th March 2019.

ZAMBIAN PARLIAMENTARIANS PARTICIPATE IN THE MARCH, 2019 PAN AFRICAN PARLIAMENT STATUTORY COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Zambian Parliamentarians were among the many African Parliamentarians that participated in the March, 2019 Pan African Parliament (PAP) Statutory Committee Meetings that took place in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and Tunis, Tunisia. The meetings took place from 27th February to 9th March, 2019.
The meetings were held under the African Union theme for 2019: “Year of Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons in Africa: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement.”

Take advantage of the training to seal loopholes, Ngulube urges staff

Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly-Administration, Mr Roy Ngulube has urged Parliament Staff to seal all the loop holes that may pose as a potential hindrance to achieving the institution’s set objectives.   Mr Ngulube said this when he officially opened the Self Assessment training Workshop at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday, 20th February, 2019.

Namugala applauds Africa for Economic Integration efforts

First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Hon Catherine Namugala MP, has said the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement is a remarkable achievement as evidenced by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) comment that, “at a time when trade is questioned in some parts of the World, African Leaders have taken a bold step in favour of trade and Economic Integration of the Continent”.

NAZ Clerk urges staff to safeguard professionalism and integrity

Clerk of the National Assembly, Mrs Cecilia Nsenduluka Mbewe has urged members of staff to guard and uphold professionalism and integrity at all costs. Speaking when she officially opened a workshop for National Assembly Office Drivers in Lusaka on Saturday, 19th January, 2019, Mrs Mbewe stated that from inception, the institution has been associated with high levels of professionalism and therefore, the workshop had been convened to help encode and reinforce systems and processes aimed at preventing the emergence of vices that erode the ethics of public service.

National Assembly Donates to the House of Chiefs

Hon Catherine Namugala, MP, First Deputy Speaker officially handed over a Recording and Public Address System to the House of Chiefs on Monday 10th December, 2018. The Equipment was donated by the National Assembly of Zambia to the House of Chiefs as part of collaboration between the two Houses. The Hon First Deputy Speaker appealed to their Royal Highnesses, the Chiefs to continue to work closely with the National Assembly, that host the Honorable Members of Parliament who come from their Chiefdoms.
 

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF ZAMBIA CLERK LEADS TEAM OF EXPERTS IN REDRAFTING THE CPA AFRICA REGION CONSTITUTION

The Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia, Mrs Cecilia N Mbewe, in her capacity as Chairperson of the Society of Clerks-at-the-Table (SoCATT) Africa Region led a group of experts mandated to review and redraft the entire Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa Region Constitution. The meeting took place from 19th to 23rd November, 2018, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Expert Committee had a representation of draftsmen and women from the four sub-regions of CPA Africa: Central; East; Southern; and West Africa.
