SPEAKER MATIBINI COMMENDS PAP’S EFFORTS

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia Right Honourable Justice Dr. Patrick Matibini, SC, FCIArb, MP has commended the Pan-African Parliament for fostering an environment that supports the realization of the African Union vision, and the implementation of the Agenda 2063, themed, “The Africa We Want.”

AFRICAN PARLIAMENTARIANS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPT MODEL LAWS ON DISABILITY AND POLICING

African Parliamentarians adopted the Draft Model Law on Disability and Draft Model Policing Law during the Pan African Parliament (PAP) Third Ordinary Session of the Fifth Parliament that took place from 2nd to 18th October, 2019 in Midrand South Africa.
The Model Law on Disability aims at providing a legal and institutional framework for the protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities, in line with the existing international and regional legal and policy instruments.

ZAMBIAN PARLIAMENTARIANS PARTICIPATE IN THE MARCH, 2019 PAN AFRICAN PARLIAMENT STATUTORY COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Zambian Parliamentarians were among the many African Parliamentarians that participated in the March, 2019 Pan African Parliament (PAP) Statutory Committee Meetings that took place in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and Tunis, Tunisia. The meetings took place from 27th February to 9th March, 2019.
The meetings were held under the African Union theme for 2019: “Year of Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons in Africa: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement.”
