The Acting Clerk of the National Assembly Mrs Loveness M Mayaka represented by the Director of Financial Committee Mr Stephen Chiwota has called on members of staff to take Sector Budget Analysis seriously as a key pillar for economic governance and public accountability, during a high-level capacity building workshop held in Kabwe at Urban Bliss Hotel from September 1st to 3rd, 2025.

SPEAKER COMMISSIONS KANCHIBIYA CONSTITUENCY OFFICE, CALLS FOR EFFECTIVE UTILISATION OF CONSTITUENCY DEVELOPMENT FUND

 The Right Honourable Ms. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, SC., MP, FAPRA, Speaker of the National Assembly has observed that the significant increase in the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) from previous allocations to the current 36.1 Million Kwacha per constituency, has not only empowered Constituencies to address their own local priorities, but also reinforced the role of Parliament in ensuring that development is people-driven and reflective of the true aspirations of communities.

Junior MPs Call for Enhanced Government Investment in Children’s Education and Healthcare

A spirited gathering of young voices echoed through the halls of the National Assembly of Zambia as the Junior Members of Parliament from different constituencies assembled for the Second Edition of the Fourth Session of the Junior Parliamentary Assembly.

The aspiring parliamentarians delivered powerful debates cantered on the theme: “Urge the Government to demonstrate its commitment to increasing and prioritising budgetary investments in quality education and healthcare services for all children.”

National Assembly Mourns with Hon. Malungo Chisangano

The National Assembly of Zambia regrets to announce the passing of Mr. Edward Chabilakale Chisangano, father to the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Malungo A. Chisangano, MP.

Mr. Chisangano passed away on Wednesday, 20th August, 2025, after an illness. His passing is a profound loss not only to his family, but also to the extended parliamentary family.

In her message of condolence, the Speaker of the National Assembly expressed deep sorrow and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the First Deputy Speaker and her family.
