Finance Minister Hon. Musokotwane unveils K253.1 Billion 2026 National Budget

The Minister of Finance and National Planning, Honourable Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane, on Friday, 26th September 2025, presented the 2026 National Budget to the National Assembly under the theme “Consolidating Economic and Social Gains towards a Prosperous, Resilient and Equitable Zambia.”

He said, the 2026 National Budget projects national expenditure of K253.1 billion, representing 27.4 percent of GDP. He further said Domestic revenues are expected to contribute K206.5 billion, complemented by K12.1 billion in grants and K34.5 billion in borrowing.

THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF ZAMBIA AND THE NATIONAL PARLIAMENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY AGREE TO DEEPEN COOPERATION.

The Acting Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia Mrs. Loveness Maambo Mayaka on the 25th September, 2025 in Berlin, Germany, has held bilateral talks with her counterpart, Paul Göttke, Secretary General of the Bundestag, the national parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany. Mrs. Mayaka who is leading a delegation of National Assembly staff to the Germany Bundestag, has called on the two institutions to further deepen their cooperation and collaboration for knowledge exchange and continuous learning between the parliaments. First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Honourable Malungo A Chisangano, MP says China’s support to Zambia’s development continues to be essential, pointing to investments in infrastructure such as roads, schools and hospitals as well as in sectors including mining, agriculture and manufacturing. She said this support has greatly shaped Zambia’s progress.
