European Union Financed Support to The National Assembly Project trains Members of The Committee on Local Governance, Housing And Chiefs’ Affairs on The Housing Situation In Zambia

The Chairperson of the Committee on Local Governance, Housing and Chiefs Affairs, Hon Maxwell Kabanda, MP, officially opened a two-day’s workshop which was held from 26th to 27th January at Protea Hotel Lusaka Tower, Lusaka. This workshop was organized by the European Union Support to the National Assembly Project team as one of their key interventions to enhance the capacity of four selected Committees of Parliament in the area of Public Finance Management.

European Union financed Support to the National Assembly Project trains Members of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Energy and Labour on the implementation of Public Private Partnerships in Zambia.

Mazabuka Central Member of Parliament, Honourable Gary Nkombo, MP, who was acting Chairperson of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Energy and Labour, implored Members of the Committee to understand the implementation of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) policy in Zambia as the Committee engages stakeholders during the upcoming meetings.

 

European Union financed Support to the National Assembly Project trains Members of the Budget Committee on Subsidies, Fiscal Decentralisation and the Budget Process

Chairperson of the Budget Committee Hon. Mwalimu Simfukwe says major strides have been made to enhance the role of Parliament in the Budget Process through the various reforms taking place in the National Assembly.

He said this when he officially opened the Capacity Enhancement Training Workshop for Members of the Budget Committee that was held at Intercontinental Hotel, in Lusaka, from 14th to 15th January, 2017.

High Level Batoka Gorge Energy Investment Conference - February 2017

Zambia will next month hold a High Level Regional Investment Conference to mobilise resources for the Batoka Gorge Hydro Electric Power Scheme which is estimated to cost US$ 6 Billion and produce 2, 400 Mega Watts to be shared equally between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
