When more than 150 parliamentary leaders from across the globe meet in New York later this month, the unique gathering will have the potential to kick-start wide-ranging political action to bring dramatic change to our world for generations to come.

As the heads of national parliaments, Speakers of Parliament are also the official voice of all the people in their countries. Among the most senior political leaders nationally, they also have the power to do politics differently.

The theme of this year's Seminar is, "Re-inventing Administration of Parliaments' Institutional Processes In the New Information Era."

Empower Young People - Speaker

Speaker of the National Assembly, the Rt. Hon. Justice, Dr Patrick Matibini, SC, MP has said young people should be empowered in order for them to be active participants in the developmental agenda of the country.

Parliamentary Shepolopolo silences Zim MPs

The Zambian Parliamentary Netball Team on Saturday, 25th July, 2015 beat their Zimbabwe counterparts to a tune of 13-11.  
The games that were played in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe saw the Zambian MPs dominate the first two quarters with Zimbabwe almost recovering in the third quarter.  However, the unbeatable Shepolopolo who were captained by Hon Annie Chungu dominated the fourth quarter with a resounding victory of 13-11.

SADC Governments must lead in Mobilization of domestic funding for HIV/AIDS - Speaker

Speaker of the National Assembly, the Rt. Hon. Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC, MP has said there is urgent need for SADC Governments to lead in the mobilization of domestic funding for HIV and AIDS and strengthening health care systems to roll out HIV prevention, treatment, care and support strategies.

Dr Matibini said this during an orientation workshop for Members of Parliament on the Implementation of Regional, Continental and International Commitments on HIV/AIDS Financing Projectswhich was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lusaka on 22ndJuly, 2015.
