Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt Hon Ms Nelly B K Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA has directed all the 156 constituencies in Zambia to observe Parliament Day on 23rd May, 2025.


Speaking when she visited the Choma Central Constituency Office on Friday, 9th May, 2025, Hon Mutti stated that all Constituency Offices will be expected to hold activities on 23rd May of each year in order to commemorate Parliament Day.

The Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms Nelly Kashumba Butete Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA handed over the Presidency of the Forum of Parliaments of the Members States of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGLR) to Ms Carolina Cerqueira, Speaker of the National Assembly of Angola on Friday, 25th April, 2025 at the end of the 15th Session of the FP-ICGLR in Luanda, Angola. The Rt Honourable Speaker Mutti took over the Presidency in April 2024 in Livingstone,  when Zambia hosted the 14th Session of the FP-ICGLR.

ZAMBIA BIDS FAREWELL TO CLERK OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY , ROY NGULUBE

The Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia, Roy Ngulube has been put to rest at Lusaka’s Memorial Park Cemetery.

Republican Vice President W.K Mutale Nalumango, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Right Honourable, Ms. Nelly B.K Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, Cabinet ministers and foreign dignitaries from various Parliaments and international  regional bodies were among the people who came to bid farewell to Mr. Ngulube at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka.

CLERK OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY MR. ROY MUKOBA NGULUBE DIES

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, The Rt. Honourable Ms Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, regrets to inform the nation and the world of the passing of Mr. Roy Ngulube, Clerk of the National Assembly who died on Monday, 7th April, 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, at 20:35hrs (Uzbekistan time) after a short illness.

Mr. Ngulube had accompanied the Rt Hon Madam Speaker on official duty where she is attending the 150  Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly and related Meetings.

SPEAKER MUTTI ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF THE IPU AFRICA GEOPOLITICAL GROUP

Saturday 5th April 2025 – The Right Honourable Ms. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, SC., MP, FAPRA, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, has been unanimously elected as the Vice President of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) representing the Africa Geopolitical Group, at the 295th Session of the Executive Committee at the ongoing 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly and Related Meetings in Taskent, Uzbekistan.
