First Deputy Speaker Says China’s Contribution to Zambia’s Development Essential

First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Honourable Malungo A Chisangano, MP says China’s support to Zambia’s development continues to be essential, pointing to investments in infrastructure such as roads, schools and hospitals as well as in sectors including mining, agriculture and manufacturing. She said this support has greatly shaped Zambia’s progress.

Australia, Zambia Share Interests in Agriculture, Mining and Climate Change Says Speaker Dick

Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Australia and Member for Oxley, Hon. Milton Dick, says Australia and Zambia share many common interests, including agriculture, innovation, critical minerals and climate change.

 He said this when he led an Australian Parliamentary Delegation on a historic visit to the National Assembly of Zambia this morning, marking the first time ever that a Speaker of Australia has visited Zambia’s Parliament. 

Speaker Mutti Among Women Honoured as NGOCC Marks 40 Years

The Non-Governmental Gender Organisations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC), celebrated its 40th anniversary with an Awards Gala Dinner  on 19th September, 2025 at Golden Peacock Hotel in Lusaka, where outstanding women championing gender equality were recognised.

Among those honoured was the Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Rt. Hon. Nelly B.K. Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, who was represented at the ceremony by the First Deputy Speaker, Hon. Malungo A. Chisangano, MP.

Strategic Planning Strengthens Parliament Says Speaker Mutti

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Rt. Hon. Nelly B.K Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA says parliaments that embrace strategic planning are better positioned to deliver effectively on their legislative, oversight, budget and representative functions.

She said this during the official opening of the High-Level Workshop on Parliamentary Strategic Planning organised by the National Assembly of Zambia in collaboration with Inter Pares and the European Union, on 17th September 2025 at the Southern Sun Hotel in Lusaka.

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hon Malungo A Chisangano, MP, undertook a tour of selected Constituency Offices in Central Province from 2nd to 8th June, 2025.

Hon Chisangano commenced her tour by paying a courtesy call on the Provincial Minister and Katuba Member of Parliament, Hon Mwabashike Nkulukusa on 2nd June, 2025, at the Provincial office in Kabwe, Central Province.
