ZAMBIA BIDS FAREWELL TO CLERK OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY , ROY NGULUBE

The Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia, Roy Ngulube has been put to rest at Lusaka’s Memorial Park Cemetery.

Republican Vice President W.K Mutale Nalumango, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Right Honourable, Ms. Nelly B.K Mutti, SC, MP, FAPRA, Cabinet ministers and foreign dignitaries from various Parliaments and international  regional bodies were among the people who came to bid farewell to Mr. Ngulube at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka.

Mr Ngulube died on the 7th of April, 2025 while on official duty in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Mr. Ngulube had accompanied the Rt Hon Madam Speaker on official duty where she is attending the 150  Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly and related Meetings.

Hundreds of National Assembly of Zambia staff and former employees thronged the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross to pay their last respects to their boss.  

Mr. Ngulube's distinguished service to the nation, most of which was in the public service spanned over three decades.

Mr. Ngulube joined the National Assembly on 15 April, 2002 and rose through ranks. He served as Assistant Committee Clerk, Executive Assistant to the Secretary General of the Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC PF) from 2006 to 2008, Executive Assistant to the Hon Speaker from 2009 to 2015, Deputy Clerk (Procedure) from 2016 to 2017 and Deputy Clerk (Administration) from 2017 to 2022.

Mr. Ngulube was later appointed Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia in September 2023, the position he held until his untimely death. He is survived by his wife and three children.
