There Remains Hope for Global Health Financing, Says Dr. Kalila

Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Chairperson and Lukulu East Member of Parliament, Dr. Christopher Kalila, MP, says there is still hope for global health financing despite recent declines in support from the global north.

Dr. Kalila stated that while funding from traditional donors has been decreasing, organizations such as GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, are working to ensure that any reduction in global health financing is implemented gradually. He explained that a phased approach allows recipient countries the necessary time to adjust and begin addressing the funding gaps created by the decline in external support.

He made these remarks during the launch of the Parliamentary Caucus on Immunization, held on Monday, 19th May 2025, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka.
