First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hon Malungo A Chisangano, MP has challenged parliamentarians to use their influence and unique position to champion the implementation of the SDGs. Hon Chisangano said this when she officially opened the Second Voluntary National Review Workshop with Members of Parliament at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka on Saturday, 10th June, 2023. The First Deputy Speaker added that legislators are well positioned to promote and adopt people-centered policies and legislation to ensure that no one is left behind.

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly is on a familiarisation tour of selected constituency offices in Southern Province.  The tour commenced on Monday, 22nd May, 2023 and will be concluded on Saturday, 27th May, 2023. The purpose of the tour is to familiarise herself with operations of constituency offices, as well as appreciate the challenges faced.

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Right Honourable Mrs. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, MP on Sunday, 21st May, 2023 begun an official visit in Algiers, Algeria to cement bilateral relations between  the Zambian Parliament and the Algerian Parliament. She is accompanied by Mr. Oliver Amutike, MP, Chairperson of the Zambia-Algeria Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mrs. Chrizoster Halwiindi Phiri, MP, Mr. Elias Daka, MP, the Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Roy Ngulube and some members of staff.

K Mutti, MP has been conferred with the status of Honorary Fellow of the Africa Public Relations Association (APRA) in appreciation of the role of the National Assembly in the legislative process towards the enactment of the ZIPRC Act No. 11 of 2022 which professionalized Public Relations and Communication in Zambia. The status of Honorary Fellow was conferred on the Speaker by the APRA President Mr.

Speaker of the National Assembly, The Rt Hon Ms. Nelly B K Mutti, MP has reaffirmed the planting of trees in mitigating the negative impact of climate change. Honourable Mutti said this when she planted a tree at the National Assembly of Angola Palace on Thursday, 11th May, 2023.

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, The Right Honourable Ms Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, MP has stated that peace is a precursor for development and has, therefore, urged African countries to stand united in maintaining peace. She said this when she met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Angola, Her Excellency Carolina Cerqueira, MP, at the National Assembly Palace in Luanda, Angola, on Wednesday, 10^th May, 2023.

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, The Right Honourable Nelly B K Mutti, MP has said religion is an important factor in uniting a nation because it brings diverse people together in fellowship.  Honourable Mutti said this when she graced the “Bunge Prayer Breakfast” at the National Assembly of Kenya on Wednesday, 26^th April, 2023.

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, The Right Honourable Nelly B K Mutti, MP has called for more cooperation among African Parliaments.  Speaking in Nairobi on Monday, 24^th April, 2023, when she paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya, The Right Honourable Dr Moses M Wetang’ula, EGH, MP, Honourable Mutti said there is need to enhance cordial relations among African Parliaments who have more international Parliamentary friendship groups and less among themselves.
