The Parliamentary Reforms Programme (PRP) Department of the National Assembly of Zambia recently conducted a series of orientation workshops for newly recruited staff in Constituency Offices. The most recent of these workshops was conducted in Kitweat plot 35 lodge from 12th to 15th September 2022.

The Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr Roy Ngulube, has called for improved quality reporting and recommendations by the Committee Department. He said this on Monday, 9th August, 2022, when he officially opened the Capacity Building Workshop on Annual & Evaluation Report Analysis and Report Writing for selected Members of Staff of the National Assembly, at Lake Kariba Inn, in Siavonga.

The National Assembly of Zambia, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) held a four day Post-Election Seminar for the 13th National Assembly of Zambia from Monday, 25th to 28th July, 2022. The purpose of the Seminar was to offer Members of Parliament (MPs), of the 13th National Assembly, an opportunity to learn more about parliamentary practice, procedure and etiquette, as practiced in the Zambian Parliament, and in jurisdictions that subscribe to the Westminster Parliamentary System.

The National Assembly of Zambia Hosts the first ever African Children’s Parliament

The National Assembly of Zambia hosted theAfrican Children’s Parliamentfor the first time in its history, which took place from the 15thto 16th July, 2022, at Parliament Buildings, under the theme: Creating an Africa Fit for Children. The 2022Children’s Parliament took place on the side - lines of the African Union (AU) Mid-year Heads of State Coordinating Meeting held in Lusaka from the 14th to 17th July, 2022.

SPEAKER MUTTI LEADS A DELEGATION TO THE 51ST SADC PARLIAMENTARY FORUM

The Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Rt. Honourable Nelly B K Mutti has led a Delegation to the 51st SADC Parliamentary Forum which is being held in Lilongwe, Malawi from 7th to 16th July, 2022.

During the meeting, the Rt Honourable Madam Speaker is expected to move a motion to the forum to adopt a Model Law on Public Financial Management.
