The Petroleum (Exploration and Production) (Amendment) Bill, 2021

The object of this Bill is to amend the Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Act, 2008, so as to revise the composition of the Petroleum Technical Committee.

The National Institute of Public Administration (Amendment) Bill, 2021

The object of this Bill is to amend the National Institute of Public Administration Act, 1998, so as to revise the composition of the Council.

The Health Professions (Amendment) Bill, 2021

The object of this Bill is to amend the Health Professions Act, 2009 so as to revise the composition of the Council.

The Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Bill, 2021

The objects of this Bill are to—

(a) ensure the provision of cyber security in the Republic;

 (b) provide for the protection of persons against cyber crime;

(c) provide for child online protection;
(d) facilitate identification, declaration and protection of critical information infrastructure;

(e) provide for the collection of and preservation of evidence of computer and network related crime;

 (f) revise the admission, in criminal matters, of electronic evidence; 

The Legal Aid Bill, 2021

The objects of this Bill are to provide for—

(a) provide for the granting of legal aid in civil and criminal cases to persons whose means are insufficient to enable them to pay for legal services;

(b) provide for the regulation of law clinics in the provision of legal aid;

(c) continue the existence of the Legal Aid Board and provide for its functions;

(d) re-constitute the Board of the Legal Aid Board and re- define its functions;

The Data Protection Bill, 2020

The objects of this Bill are to —

(a) provide for an effective system for the use and protection of personal data;

(b) regulate the collection, use, transmission, storage and otherwise processing of personal data;

(c) establish the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and provide for its functions;

(d) provide for the registration of data controllers and licencing of data auditors;

(e) provide for the duties of data controllers and data processors;

The Electronic Communications and Transactions Bill, 2020

The objects of this Bill are to—

(a) provide a safe and effective environment for electronic transactions;

(b) promote secure electronic signatures;

(c) facilitate electronic filling of documents by public authorities;

(d) provide for the use, security, facilitation and regulation of electronic communications and transactions;

(e) promote legal certainty and confidence, and encourage investment and innovation in relation to electronic transactions;
