Mr. Justice Dr. Patrick Matibini, SC., BA, FCIArb, MP on Tuesday 23rd June, 2020, made a Ruling on a Point of Order raised by Mr Gary G Nkombo, MP on whether the House was in order to deliberate on the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Bill N.A.B. No.10 of 2019 which contained a clause which was the subject of litigation in the matter of Dipak Patel and the Minister of Finance and the Attorney General.

Government Chief Whip Hon. Brian Mundubile, MP Announces Guidelines for the Sitting of Parliament during the Coronavirus Period

Government Chief Whip Hon. Brian Mundubile, MP has announced guidelines for the sitting of Parliament during the coronavirus period. This was during a press briefing held at parliament buildings on Tuesday, 16th June, 2020. Among the guidelines announced by Hon. Mundubile is the reduction in sitting hours, Parliament will during the coronavirus period sit from 14:30 hours to 17:00 hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 09:00 hours to 12:00 hours on Fridays.

New Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) appointed

The Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) has appointed a new Secretary-General for the Association. Stephen Twigg will become the CPA Secretary-General of one of the oldest established organisations in the Commonwealth.
