Government Chief Whip Hon. Brian Mundubile, MP Announces Guidelines for the Sitting of Parliament during the Coronavirus Period

Government Chief Whip Hon. Brian Mundubile, MP has announced guidelines for the sitting of Parliament during the coronavirus period. This was during a press briefing held at parliament buildings on Tuesday, 16th June, 2020. Among the guidelines announced by Hon. Mundubile is the reduction in sitting hours, Parliament will during the coronavirus period sit from 14:30 hours to 17:00 hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 09:00 hours to 12:00 hours on Fridays.
He also said that there will be no visits and tours of Parliament by groups such as schools and that only one media personnel from any given media house will be allowed on Parliamentary precincts at a time. The Government Chief Whip further stated that media houses that wish to transmit parliamentary proceedings on their channels may do so through the Parliament TV live Feed.
Hon. Mundubile said that he hopes members of the public and the media will appreciate that these measures are not intended to shut the members of the public out but rather to protect Members of Parliament and the public at large from the risk of contracting the Covid-19.
