The Occupational Health And Safety Bill , 2025

The objects of this Bill are to

(a) continue the existence of the Occupational Health and Safety Institute and re define its functions;

(b) re constitute the Board of the Occupational Health and Safety Institute and re define its functions;

(c) provide for the establishment of health and safety committees at workplaces; (d) regulate health and safety of persons at workplaces;

(e) repeal and replace the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 2010; and

(f) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

 

The Small Claims Court (Amendment) Bill, 2025

The object of this Bill is to amend the Small Claims Court Act so as to

(a) revise the jurisdiction of the small claims court; and

(b) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing

The Superior Court (Number of Judges) Bill, 2025

The objects of this Bill are to

(a) prescribe the number of judges for the Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, Court of Appeal and High Court;

(b) repeal and replace the Superior Courts (Number of Judges) Act, 2016; and

(c) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

 

The Teaching Profession Bill,2025

The object of this Bill are to

(a) continue the existence of the Teaching Council of Zambia and re-define its functions;

(b) re-constitute the Board of the Teaching Council of Zambia and redefine its functions;

(c) regulate teachers, their practice and professional conduct;

(d) provide for the administration of licensure examinations;

(e) repeal  and replace the Teaching Professions Act, 2013; and

(f)provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing

The Lands And Deeds Registry (Amendment) Bill ,2025

The object of this Bill is to amend the Lands and Deeds Registry Act so as to

(a) grant the Chief Registrar the power to cancel a Certificate of Title; and

(b) provide for matters connected with, or incidental, to the foregoing.

 

The Zambia Institute Of Procurement And Supply Bill, 2025

The objects of this Bill are to— (a) continue the existence of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and  Supply and re name it as the Zambia Institute of Procurement and  Supply and re-define its functions

(b) promote and enhance the procurement and supply profession;

(c) provide for the registration of procurement and supply professionals  and procurement and supply  firms, and regulate their practice and professional conduct;

(d) repeal and replace the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply  Act, 2003; and

The Supplementary Appropriation (2025) Bill, 2025

The object of this Bill is to authorise supplementary expenditure from the Consolidated Fund of monies required for the services of the Republic during the financial year ending on 31st December, 2025, in excess of monies appropriated for the services of the Republic by the Appropriation Act, 2024.
 

The Customs And Excise ( Amendment ) Bill, 2025

The object of this bill is to amend the Customs and Excise Act so as to—

(a) revise the rates of customs and excise duty payable on certain goods;

(b) introduce ten percent excise duty on betting services; and

(c) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

 

The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill,2025

The object of this Bill is to amend the Income Tax Act so as to—

(a) increase the withholding tax from fifteen percent to twenty percent on Government securities;

(b) introduce a minimum alternative tax at the rate of one percent to counter tax avoidance and broaden the tax base; and

(c) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the forgoing.

The Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Bill,2025

The objects of this Bill is to amend the Constitution of Zambia so as to—

(a) revise the composition of the National Assembly to provide for the increase in the number of constituencybased seats from one hundred and fifty-six to two hundred and eleven to actualise the delimitation report by the Electoral Commission;

(b) revise the electoral system for election to the National Assembly to provide for a mixed-member proportional representation electoral system to guarantee the representation of women, youths and persons with disabilities;
