Collaboration among Parliamentary SACCOS key in uplifting the socio economic welfare of staff

The National Assembly of Zambia Savings and Credit Cooperative (NAZ SACCO) has been urged to prioritise and safeguard members’ interests as it seeks to enhance its services, as well as increase the fund and membership portfolio. This was during an engagement meeting with representatives of the Bunge SACCO Limited of the National Assembly of Kenya on Wednesday, 3rd May, 2023, Nairobi, Kenya. The Bunge SACCO also facilitated interactions between the NAZ SACCO and Kenya's National Director of Cooperatives, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of the SACCO Society Regulatory Authority (SASRA). During the same meeting, the Acting Deputy Clerk (Administration), Mrs Loveness Mayaka, thanked the Bunge SACCO for according the NAZ SACCO an opportunity to learn from the Kenyan experiences, especially that it was one of the SACCOs with a proven track record in the region, with over 52 years experience. In the same vein, the NAZ SACCO Board Vice Chairperson, Mr Julius Kampamba, stated that the good practices and lessons from the Bunge SACCO would be tailor made to catalyse the growth and meet the aspirations of the NAZ SACCO members. Further, the NAZ SACCO General Manager, Mr Sage Samuwika, thanked the NAZ Management for facilitating the benchmarking visit to the Bunge SACCO, and for recognising the importance of the NAZ SACCO in uplifting and changing livelihoods of SACCO members. The Bunge SACCO was established in 1971, with a current membership of 2027 members that includes Members of Parliament.
