OUTSTANDING PARLIAMENTARIANS HONOURED AT 2025 NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AWARDS CEREMONY

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Malungo A Chisangano, MP, has urged all Parliamentarians to uphold and strengthen Parliamentary democracy by enhancing accountability and nurturing a culture of discipline, diligence, and exemplary service. She made the call during the Annual Parliamentarians Awards Ceremony held on Wednesday, 3rd December, 2025, at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka.

SADC PARLIAMENTARY FORUM, 58TH PLENARY ASSEMBLY SESSION CONVENES WITH FOCUS ON REGIONAL COOPERATION TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS

The Southern African Development Community, Parliamentary Forum (SADC-PF), 58th  Plenary Assembly Session has commenced in Durban, South Africa with a call for greater regional cooperation, improved data systems and stronger accountability mechanisms to address the impact of climate change.

The SADC Regional Parliaments have assembled in South Africa for the Plenary Assembly Session which is being held under the theme: “The Impact of Climate Change on Women and Youth in the SADC Region and the Role of Parliaments in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation.”

The Banking and Financial Services Bill,2025

The objects of this Bill are to— 
(a) provide for the regulation and supervision of financial service providers; 
(b) provide for ownership and control of financial service providers; 
(c) provide for the incorporation of standards, principles and concepts of environmental, social and corporate governance in systems and structures of financial service providers;
 (d) provide for the resolution powers of the Bank in relation to a failed bank or financial institution; (e) provide for innovative and inclusive financial services;

SADC Parliamentary Forum, 58th Plenary Assembly Session has officially opened in Durban, South Africa.

Regional Parliaments have assembled in South Africa to discuss, among other things, the impact of climate change on women and youths in the SADC region and the role of Parliaments in climate change mitigation and adaption.

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Right Honourable Ms. Nelly B.K. Mutti is leading a  Zambian delegation of five Members of Parliament. 

Delegates attending the 58th Plenary Session of the SADC Parliamentary Forum (SADC PF) in Durban have expressed confidence in the forum’s potential to advance stronger regional responses to climate change.
