Five MPs test positive from the COVID-19 mass testing exercise conducted at Parliament Buildings

The Vice President of the Republic of Zambia, Her Honour Mrs Inonge M. Wina, MP and the Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia the Rt. Hon. Mr Justice Dr. Patrick Matibini, SC., BA, FCIArb, MP led Members of Parliament in a mass testing exercise for Coronavirus at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday, 22nd July, 2020.

From the mass testing exercise, which included members of staff and non-staff, fifteen (15) tested positive for Covid-19 of which five (05) are Members of Parliament, five (05) members of staff and five (05) non-staff.

Mr Justice Dr. Patrick Matibini, SC., BA, FCIArb, MP, led Members of Parliament and Staff of the National Assembly of Zambia in a mass testing exercise for the Coronavirus disease, 2019 (COVID-19) at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday, 22nd July 2020.

Parliament Precincts Fumigated

The precincts of Parliament have today Monday, 20th July, 2020 been fumigated in an effort to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus. The fumigation exercise was conducted by the Association of the Indian Community in Zambia following a request from the Ministry of Health to fumigate the institution of Parliament.

A ‘technological milestone’ for the CPA as it delivers its first ever virtual post-election seminar for newly elected Members of the Anguilla House of Assembly

Following its election on 29 June 2020, the newly elected Members of the House of Assembly of Anguilla will be recipients of a Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Post-Election Seminar. The Seminar, which is the CPA’s longest running programme, will be delivered for the first-time virtually with panellists presenting from across the Commonwealth, due to travel restrictions in place during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
