NAZ TO RESUME SITTING ON TUESDAY, 30TH MARCH, 2021

The Clerk of the National Assembly wishes to inform Honourable Members of Parliament, the media and the public at large that the House Business Committee of Parliament has resolved that the Third Meeting of the Fifth Session of the Twelfth National Assembly which resumes sittings on Tuesday, 30th March, 2021, at 14:30 hours, will be held under very strict Covid-19 guidelines as was the case with the previous Meeting.

SPEAKER MATIBINI COMMENDS EU’S ROLE IN THE ELECTORAL PROCESS

Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Honourable Mr Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC., BA, FCIArb, MP has commended the European Union (EU) for their objective and invaluable role in Zambia’s electoral process and reform. He said this when the Exploratory Mission (ExM) to Zambia paid a courtesy on him at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka, on Monday, 22 March, 2021.

NAZ TO RESUME SITTING ON TUESDAY, 30TH MARCH, 2021

The Fifth Session of the Twelfth National Assembly, which adjourned sine die on Wednesday, 10th March, 2021, will resume on Tuesday, 30th March, 2021, at 14:30 hours.

The Electoral Process (Amendment) Bill, 2021

The object of this Bill is to amend the Electoral Process Act, 2016, so as to—

(a) provide for voting by persons in prisons;
(b) provide for distribution of campaign material in prisons by

candidates in an election;

(c) provide for access to prisons by monitors, observers and polling agents on election day;

(d) provide access to the community to vote in polling stations established in prisons;

(e) prohibit the announcement and declaration of results by unauthorised persons; and
