The National Health Research and Training Institute Bill, 2024

An Act to continue the existence of the Tropical Diseases Research Centre and rename it as the National Health Research and Training Institute and redefine its functions; provide for health research and training; provide for the establishment of the National Health Research Laboratory; provide for research in indigenous knowledge, traditional and complementary alternative medicines; repeal and replace the Tropical Diseases Research Centre Act, Cap. 301; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The Health Professions Bill, 2024

The objects of this Bill are to—

(a) continue the existence of the Health Professions Council of Zambia and re-define its functions;

(b) re-constitute the Board of the Health Professions Council of Zambia and re-define its functions;

(c) regulate health professionals, health facilities, health care services and internship sites;

(d) provide for the administration of licensure examinations;

(e) approve curriculum for health learning programmes for purposes of accreditation by the Higher Education Authority;

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PRESS STATEMENT

Windhoek, Namibia, July 30th 2024 - Namibia's Parliament has commended Zambia for the manner it is implementing the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) programme. Chairperson of the National Council, which the second House of Namibia's bicameral Parliament, Honourable, Lukas Sinimbo Muha said Namibia is exploring the possibility of entering into a cooperation agreement with the Parliament of Zambia to learn more about how the country is implementing the Constituency Development Fund.
