Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Rt. Hon. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, MP, FAPRA has described the late former Speaker of the National Assembly, the Rt. Hon. Amussa Mwanamwambwa, MP, GCDS as a figure of great distinction both on the parliamentary landscape and private life. she said this when she paid tribute to the late former Speaker on Monday, 30th October, 2023 at the funeral home in Lusaka.

Speaker Mutti acknowledged the vital role that the late former Speaker played in the regional and international parliamentary bodies, characterizing it as a testament to his unwavering commitment to the legislature.

Madam Speaker subsequently spoke of the profound wisdom she had received from the late Speaker during her message of condolences, reflecting on his impactful words, "The hallmark of Speakership is impartiality and integrity," which she described as a guiding principle for her tenure.

Referring to Mr. Mwanamwambwa with the affectionate monikers "Mukulwange" and "Mutomphei," Speaker Mutti pledged to build upon the substantial reforms initiated during the late Speaker's tenure, demonstrating her dedication to preserving and enhancing the legacy of integrity within the Zambian Parliament.

Speaker Mutti took the time to engage with pupils from Twatasha Primary School, a group of pupils who had been recipients of educational sponsorship from the late former Speaker. She extended words of encouragement, motivating the pupils to excel in their academic studies emphasizing the importance of honoring the late Speaker's legacy through their unwavering commitment and dedication to their studies.
