NAMUGALA WELCOMES COLLABORATION WITH UNDP AND ECZ

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Honourable Catherine Namugala, MP, has welcomed the partnership between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and National Assembly of Zambia which goes as far back as the early days of the Parliamentary Reforms whose implementation commenced after Zambia reverted to multi-partism.

The Extradition (Amendment) Bill, 2020

The object of this Bill is to amend the Extradition Act, so as to provide for measures for monitoring of a request made to a competent authority.

The Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (Amendment) Bill, 2020

The object of this Bill is to amend the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Act, so as to provide for measures for monitoring of a request made to a competent authority.

The Non-Governmental Organisation (Amendment) Bill, 2020

The object of this Bill is to amend the Non-Governmental Organisation Act, 2009, so as to revise the functions of the Board to include measures for monitoring the risk of the use of Non- Governmental Organisations for serious crimes.

The Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2020

The object of this Bill is to amend the Companies Act, 2017, so as to—

(a) revise the definition of beneficial ownership; and
(b) provide for the definition of substantial economic benefit and substantial interest.

 

The Financial Intelligence Centre (Amendment) Bill, 2020

An Act to amend the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2010 so as to —

(a) re-define the functions of the Centre;
(b) revise the definition of high risk customers in accordance

with international standards;
(c) provide for customer due diligence on wire transfers in

accordance with international standards;
(d) provide a risk management framework for anti-money

laundering requirements;
(e) expand the scope of reporting entities; and
(f) provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.
