Speaker Mutti confers with Shri Om Birla, Speaker of Indian Parliament

The Right Honourable Dr. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, SC., MP, FAPRA, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, met with the Speaker of the Indian Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Om Birla on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC).

Speaker Mutti expressed delight that Zambia and India continue to enjoy cordial bilaterial relations for over 60 years, a feat which she said underscores the depth and resilience of the partnership.

Speakers and Presiding Officers Vital to Upholding Constitutional Order – CPA Chairperson - Kalila

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Chairperson, Dr. Christopher Kalila, MP says speakers and
presiding officers play a vital role in upholding constitutional order, safeguarding, parliamentary independence, and ensuring that institutions of parliament remain effective, inclusive and respected by the citizens they serve. He was speaking this morning during the official opening of the 28th Conference of speakers and presiding officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) in New Delhi, India.
