A delegation of Finnish Parliamentarians led by Mr Jouni Ovasaka from Demo Finland an organization that supports democracy by parties for parties on Tuesday, 25th April, 2022 met the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nelly B. K Mutti, MP at Parliament Buildings to discuss various issues pertaining to parliamentary work and the support of democracy by parties. Speaker Mutti expressed the need for a law reformation in order for Zambia to enhance female representation in Parliament as is the case with Parliaments like Rwanda, Finland, Sweden.

The Social Workers' Association of Zambia Act, 2022

An Act to continue the existence of the Social Workers’ Association of Zambia; provide for the registration of social workers and regulate their professional conduct; provide for disciplinary procedures for social workers in the social work profession; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management Act, 2022

An Act to continue the existence of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management and rename it as the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management and re-define its functions; promote and enhance the human resource management profession; provide for the registration of human resource management practitioners and regulate their practice and professional conduct; repeal and replace the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management Act,1997; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The Zambia Institute of Marketing Act, 2022

An Act to continue the existence of the Zambia Institute of Marketing and redefine its powers and functions; promote and enhance the marketing profession; provide for the registration of marketers and regulate their practice and professional conduct; repeal and replace the Zambia Institute of Marketing Act, 2003; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The Emoluments Commission Act, 2022

An Act to provide for the membership, functions, operations and financial management of the Emoluments Commission; provide for a harmonised framework to govern the determination and management of emoluments for chiefs and officers in a State organ and State institution; enhance the capacity of a State organ and State institution to attract, retain and motivate officers and staff with requisite qualifications, skills and experience in order to improve service delivery; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

NAZ CONGRATULATES SPEAKER MUTTI FOR THE 2022 PRESTIGIOUS KING LEWANIKA ROYAL MERITOCRACY AWARD

Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia, Mrs Cecilia N Mbewe has congratulated the Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, The Rt. Honourable Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, MP for being awarded the 2022 Prestigious King Lewanika Royal Meritocracy Award at the Kuomboka Ceremony.   

The congratulatory message was delivered on Friday, 22nd April, 2022 at Parliament Buildings.

THE COMMITTEE ON PARLIAMENTARY REFORMS EMBARKS ON A TOUR OF THE COPPERBELT

The Hon Second Deputy Speaker, Honourable Moses Moyo,MP is currently leading the Committee on Parliamentary Reforms,  which he Chairs at the National Assembly of Zambia, to tour Constituency Offices on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. The tour started on Tuesday 19th April 2022 and will continue until Friday 22nd April, 2022 and is aimed at familiarizing the Committee on Parliamentary Reforms with operations of Constituency Offices.
 

CAPAH MEMBERS TOUR KASENSELI GOLD MINE

Members of the Coalition of African Parliamentarians on Human – Animal Health and Environment (CAPAH) led by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Honorable  Elijah Muchima, MP and CAPAH Vice Chairperson toured Kasenseli Gold Mine in Mwinilunga District of  North - Western Province on Thursday, 7th April, 2022.
