MATTERS OF URGENT PUBLIC IMPORTANCE

The Bank of Zambia Bill, 2022

The objects of this Bill are to —

(a) provide for the additional functions, operations and

management of the Bank of Zambia;

(b) provide for the composition of the Board of Directors of

the Bank of Zambia and provide for their functions;

(c) provide for the establishment of the Monetary Policy

Committee and the Financial Stability Committee and

provide for their functions;

(d) repeal and replace the Bank of Zambia Act, 1996; and

(e) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the

foregoing.

Parliamentary Caucus on Children commits to supporting the Child Code Bill

The Parliamentary Caucus on Children (PCC) has strongly committed to supporting the Child Code Bill once it is tabled before the National Assembly for enactment into law. Mr Joseph Munsanje, Member of Parliament for Mbabala Constituency and Chairperson of the PCC, giving his remarks on behalf of the Caucus during an engagement meeting between the PCC, Save the Children and Children Activists held at Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka on Thursday, 9th June, 2022, informed the meeting that the PCC will vigorously lobby all MPs to ensure that the bill garners the required threshold to pass into law.
