Hon Members, the House will recall that on Friday, 14th October, 2022, when the House was debating the 2023 Budget Address, and Ms E Munashabantu, Member of Parliament for Mapatizya Constituency’s time for debate had just expired, Mr M F Fube, Member of Parliament for Chilubi Constituency, raised a Point of Order.

Parliament Clubs Gaining Ground in Secondary Schools

In a bid to promote civic education and increase awareness about the role of the National Assembly of Zambia, staff of the Institution embarked on an exercise to visit selected schools in Central Province that have established Parliament Clubs. The visits were conducted between 29th May and 1st June, 2023.

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly is on a familiarisation tour of selected constituency offices in Southern Province. The tour commenced on Monday, 22nd May, 2023 and will be concluded on Saturday, 27th May, 2023. The purpose of the tour is to familiarise herself with operations of constituency offices, as well as appreciate the challenges faced.

She is accompanied by Mr. Oliver Amutike, MP, Chairperson of the Zambia-Algeria Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mrs. Chrizoster Halwiindi Phiri, MP, Mr. Elias Daka, MP, the Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Roy Ngulube and some members of staff.

SPEAKER MUTTI CONFERRED WITH THE STATUS OF HONORARY FELLOW OF THE AFRICA PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSOCIATION

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Rt. Hon. Nelly B. K Mutti, MP has been conferred with the status of Honorary Fellow of the Africa Public Relations Association (APRA) in appreciation of the role of the National Assembly in the legislative process towards the enactment of the ZIPRC Act No. 11 of 2022 which professionalized Public Relations and Communication in Zambia. The status of Honorary Fellow was conferred on the Speaker by the APRA President Mr.
