The objects of this Bill are to -

(a) continue the existence of the Zambia Bureau of Standards and re-define its powers and functions;

(b) provide for the standardisation and quality assurance of products and services through the setting of national standards and provision of conformity assessment services for products and services;

(c) repeal and replace the Standards Act, 1994; and

(d) provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.

The objects of this Bill are to -

(a) establish the office of the Commissioner for Refugees and provide for its functions;

(b) provide for the recognition, protection and control of refugees;

(c) provide for the rights and responsibilities of refugees;

(d) establish the Refugees Fund;

(e) domesticate the United Nations Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, 1951, and its Protocol of 1967, and the Organisation of African Unity Convention Governing the Specific Aspects of Refugees Problems in Africa, 1969;

The objects of this Bill are to -

(a) provide for the principles of, and a framework for, technical regulation that are compliant with best practice and regional and international obligations to which Zambia is a party;

(b) establish the Department of Technical Regulation in the Ministry responsible for trade;

(c) provide for the development and implementation of technical regulation for public safety and health, consumer protection and environmentalprotection;

The objects of this Bill are to -

(a) establish the Agricultural Institute of Zambia;

(b) provide fro the registration of agricultural professionals and regulate their professional conduct in the interest of the agricultural sector; and

(c) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the forgoing.
 

The objects of this Bill are to -

(a) establish the Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency and provide for its powers and functions;

(b) provide for the administration and maintenance of compulsory standards for the purpose of public safety and health, consumer protection and environmental protection; and

(c) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The objects of this Bill are to -

(a) continue the existence of the Zambia Weights and Measures Agency, rename it as the Zambia Metrology Agency and re-define its functions;

(b) establish the Board of the Agency and provide for its functions;

(c) provide for the designations, keepiing and maintenance of national measurement stadards;

(d) provide for the use of measurement units of the International Systems Units and other untis;

(e) provide for consumer protection, health, safety and environmental management through legal metrology measures;
