Speaker Matibini challenges lawmakers to promote innovative national and international legal regimes that are adaptive to change

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia has said lawmakers need to act proactively in promoting innovative national and international legal regimes, that are adaptive to change.  He said this when he delivered a statement at the Second International Forum “Development of Parliamentarism” and Parliamentary Conference in Moscow, Russia on Wednesday, 3rd June, 2019.
He added that the forum had come at an opportune time when parliamentary diplomacy is being explored.  Dr Matibini noted that parliamentarians can positively contribute towards a peaceful political and diplomatic resolution of conflicts and adoption of Model Laws in areas such as the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal migration, among other Trans-National threats that are afflicting the world today.
The Second International Forum and Conference that is centered on international security, peace and dialogue among parliamentarians is being attended by Presiding Officers and parliamentarians from different countries.
