CPA UK Whitsun 2016 Newsletter

Dear Members and Colleagues,

With the Whitsun recess now upon us, it is an ideal time to pause and reflect upon what has been a productive couple of months at CPA UK.

We have been planning and finalising a wide-ranging series of programmes and events for the coming financial year, and I am delighted that we have been successful in securing agreement for a number of exciting and innovative projects and programmes.

We have now launched a new International Parliamentary Project on the rapidly developing area of cybersecurity and cybercrime, with the first regional workshop taking place in late July.

We are also now entering the final planning stages for our Westminster Workshop in early July on the parliamentary financial oversight of aid effectiveness.

It has been highly encouraging to see how work done by CPA UK earlier in the year continues to have an impact around the world, including the welcome news that almost a thousand people in the Cayman Islands have signed a petition by a local MP calling for a national energy plan on renewables, following his participation at our sustainable development conference in March.

As ever, our bilateral activities continue to go from strength to strength, with successful delegations to Anguilla and Guyana during the Easter recess and a delegation to Nigeria taking place during Whitsun.

Details of all these and more are here

Yours sincerely,

 Andrew Tuggey
Chief Executive & Secretary
