National Assembly scoops first prize at the 25th Inter Company Relay
The National Assembly secured first place in the Directors’ Race category during the 25th Inter-Company Relay (ICR), held on Saturday, 12th July 2025, at the Lusaka Showgrounds. The event brought together various institutions and companies in a spirited display of teamwork and athleticism.
At the same event, the Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Mrs. Loveness M. Mayaka, joined a group of selected staff members in participating in the 5km Health Walk, promoting wellness and active living among employees.
This year’s relay was held under the theme “Rebuilding Through Sport – Together We Can Achieve More”, and was officially opened by Hon. Elvis C. Nkandu, MP, Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts.
The Minister stated that the ICR stood as a testament to how much can be achieved if people united for a common purpose. He commended the event as a symbol of unity and collective effort. He added that sport goes beyond competition, it serves as a powerful vehicle for social transformation and national cohesion.
