Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Right Honorable Nelly B. K Mutti, SC, MP. FAPRA has welcomed the call by the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Speaking during a courtesy call on Monday 5th May 2025, at Parliament buildings, Speaker Mutti states that the two countries continue to enjoy the long-standing, warm and mutual beneficial bilateral relations which are supported by shared values on peace and democracy.
She said how the two countries have also collaborated in various sectors such as agriculture, trade, business, education and tourism so as to foster development and improve the welfare of the citizens.
She indicated that the cordial bilateral relations between the two countries have continued to grow from strength to strength as demonstrated by the high-level visits that have been undertaken by the leadership of the two countries.
And His Excellency Mr Emmanuel Bugingo, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda reiterated the excellent relations that Zambia and Rwanda share as demonstrated through the state visits by the Heads of State of the two countries.
He said that the long-standing bilateral relations between the Zambian and Rwandan parliaments are characterized by working together, exchange visits and cooperating on issues of common interests at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
Ambassador Bugingo informed Speaker Mutti that the Rwandan parliament has put in place a legal and policy framework aimed at empowering women, Youths and People with disabilities, in which the budget is channeled to help these vulnerable sections of society.
Ambassador commended the National Assembly of Zambia for the continued momentum of cooperation between the two parliaments and firmly assured the meeting that the Parliament of Rwanda is willing to continue working closely with the National Assembly of Zambia to support Initiatives that foster trade, investment and technical assistance.
